Recently, we asked patients if they would use a new telehealth service we were considering for our practice. To everyone who responded, thank you for your time and thoughts. Overall, the response was favorable to this new service, and Peraza Dermatology Group is now excited to offer this new telehealth option to patients.
Telehealth at Peraza Dermatology Group allows existing patients who have their portal activated to use an app that they can download to their Apple or Android phone to send their provider details of their condition along with photos of the area involved. Your provider can communicate with you directly about your condition and, depending on your situation, can offer a diagnosis, send a prescription electronically, or request that you schedule an in-person consultation. This will allow patients with non-emergency conditions to save time and money.

Here are the essential things for you to know moving forward:
- Telehealth will make your dermatologic care more convenient. You can take a picture with your smartphone and send it to one of our physicians at a time that works for you. A doctor will review your case within 12 hours and, depending on your situation, offer a diagnosis, write a prescription, or request that you schedule an in-person consultation.
- The new system is fully HIPAA-compliant and offers patients a secure way to communicate directly with Peraza Dermatology Group doctors. In this age of ever-increasing technology, we believe this system gives our patients the best security and peace-of-mind on the market today. Protecting your confidential information is among our highest priorities, and this new system is another tool to help us accomplish that goal.
- Telemedicine consultations will cost $70, which is not covered by insurance. This fee is in line with national telemedicine averages.
- Patients are under no obligation to use telemedicine. You can continue to schedule appointments as you always have with no changes to the care you are accustomed to receiving from Peraza Dermatology Group.
